An exceptional hotel in many ways ... this is indeed a 5-star hotel in Lille, combining history with contemporary design, combining the serenity of the place with prestige, gala dinners, exhibitions. They have subsequently advised they wish to renege on their promise to refund in full and are now only offering a voucher (their minimum legal obligation). The 5-star L'Hermitage Gantois, Autograph Collection offers accommodation with an on-site spa in an elegant 15th-century building.It is situated in the heart of Lille, a 5-minute walk from La Grand Place and 900 yards from Lille Flandres Train Station.Lille Grand Palais is 900 yards away. My only real criticism, and its a personal preference I suppose, is the decor.

It is a disappointing that a Hotel chain of this size feels so little regard for their loyal Clients. H restaurant was closed we went to the brasserie. Spaces are limited and are subject to availability. Prices are provided by our partners, and reflect nightly room rates, including all taxes and fees known to our partners. The spa was slightly disappointing for a 5 star hotel, quite basic with staff not particularly friendly or helpful. Alternatively, the Vinci public car park is 300 metres from the hotel and costs €23 per 24 hours. If we were unable to attend for any other reason, the costs would obviously be borne by us.

There is also a pool which is fab (although limited times for children to use - which is perfect for those without, not so much for us!) We were given a lovely huge suite in the eaves of the hotel, the service was excellent with staff very helpful. A historic hospice very tastefully converted with many original features well preserved.
